Practice notes

Valentin Roten advises our clients in commercial and tax law. He is particularly active in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, contract law, insolvency law and bankruptcy proceedings, employment law.

Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Valentin completed his legal internship at an international law firm in Geneva. After this, he worked as a legal advisor for a company specialized in company creation and advice to entrepreneurs. Later, he joined a foundation promoting entrepreneurship and innovation. He also completed an internship at a law firm in Moscow.

Valentin holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Geneva and a bilingual Master of Law from the Universities of Geneva and Basel. He also completed a semester of his master's degree at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. He was admitted to the Bar in 2017.

Valentin passed the first level of the Chartered Financial Analyst financial certification (CFA). He is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HEG; HES-SO) where he teaches business law within the framework of the International Business Management program.
