Craig advises on complex IT and outsourcing arrangements. He has led significant transactions across all sectors but has a particular focus on the financial services and energy sectors.
Craig joined Eversheds in 2015 after 12 years as an in-house lawyer at IBM, Oracle and Indian Outsourcing provider, TCS. In his last role Craig was IBM’s lead counsel for Financial Services in Europe and Head of the FS Regulatory team in EMEA.
Craig advises banks, insurers, payment service providers, pension schemes, hedge funds, asset managers, integrated oil & gas companies and regulated utilities on:
- IT and Business Process outsourcing
- the design/build/run of digital platforms
- complex system integration arrangements
- cloud computing (including PaaS, IaaS and SaaS)
- Blockchain platforms and Smart Contracts
- Fintech projects, collaborations, acquisitions and investments
- cyber security, business continuity & disaster recovery arrangements
- regulatory requirements in Outsourcing & the Cloud (including MiFID, SYSC & Solvency II)
- the application of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS)
Craig also advises integrated oil & gas companies and electricity generators & distributors on technology procurement, outsourcing and cyber-security matters (including compliance with the NIS Directive). Before joining the firm, Craig was lead counsel for IBM's energy and utilities practice in the UK & Ireland and has worked on strategic projects in the Energy & Renewables sector since 2003.
Craig is a key member of Eversheds Sutherland’s global cyber-security practice and also heads-up the firm’s sub-groups on the Internet of Thing (IoT) and Electronic Signatures.
Craig is a regular speaker on IT Outsourcing, FS regulatory compliance and Data/Cyber Security in the Financial Services Sector and frequently publishes briefings and White Papers on the topic.
