Jacobo Martínez is Managing Partner and Head of the Labour Department at Eversheds Sutherland.

He has extensive experience in the number of subjects which make up the legal-labour advice, having a leading role in the implementation of complex compensation systems and in advising on the labour implications in purchase transactions, mergers and takeovers and business succession. He has also a wide experience in the restructuring of job layoffs, collective bargaining and judicial dispute resolution before the social jurisdiction.

Additionally, Jacobo Martínez is a professor of Labour Law and Social Security at Universidad Cardenal Cisneros (Complutense University). Chairman of the Madrid Regional Sports Law Commission (“Comisión Jurídica del Deporte de la Comunidad de Madrid”) and one of the new independent members of the Board Directors and member of the Awards and Remuneration Committee of the Madrid-based water utility Canal de Isabel II.

He has been featured by the prestigious ranking of Chambers & Partners lawyers on numerous occasions. Jacobos’s professional career has led him to win the Outstanding Award as Best Business lawyer under 40 in 2015 (Awards 40 under 40).
