Ventspils Concert Hall “Latvija” has been opened

On 25 July 2019, the new Ventspils Concert Hall “Latvija” was officially opened with a special concert and several premieres. The new concert hall is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Latvia. It brings together under one roof an acoustic concert hall, a unique instrument collection, Ventspils Music High School, Children's Music School, Music Library, and Sound recording studio.
Our legal support for this unique project
The team of Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns law office has provided a full range of legal assistance in the implementation of this unique cultural infrastructure object. It included procurement documentation, procurement of construction and authoring services, representation of clients' interests in contract negotiations and execution of legal obligations, the use of co-financing by the European Union, etc.
The total value of the project is over 25 million euros. It is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) funded competition “Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction - Low Energy Buildings”.

The legal support in regards to construction work, author supervision service and the successful conduct of procurement procedures as well as drafting of contract documentation, the representation of the client's interests in the negotiations and performance of contracts was provided by Māris Logins, Attorney at Law and Partner at Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns and Assistant Attorney at law, lawyer Jānis Siliņš, whereas the legal support in relation to the design of the contract structure necessary for the operation of the project as well the drafting of the relevant contracts was provided by Partner Ginta Krūkle.
